Local Urgent Care Offering Curbside Testing

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -  BetterMed Urgent Care, a local urgent care provider, has begun to offer curbside coronavirus testing at some of its locations.   BetterMed co-founder Dr. Mark Rausch says they did so to help deal with the pandemic, as well as to try and ensure coronavirus patients weren't mixing with other patients at its facilities.

All patients seeking COVID-19 testing and examination are required to book an appointment on BetterMed’s website at www.Bettermedcare.com.  Rausch says online is the only way to book an appointment as its phones get overrun.  People seeking testing will still need to meet CDC criteria in order to actually get tested.

BetterMed is doing testing at these sites:

- Short Pump (12214 W. Broad Street, Henrico, 23233)

- Ashland (300 North Washington Highway, Ashland, 23005)

- Regency Square (1380 N. Parham Road, Richmond, 23229)

- Fredericksburg – Starting March 31 (4901 Plank Rd., Fredericksburg, 22407)

- Chester – Starting April 1 (11380 Iron Creek Rd., Chester, 23831)

Rausch says results should be back in 24 to 48 hours from when a test is taken.
