Chris Brown Gets Blasted For International Women’s Day Post

Vanessa Carlton and Chris Brown are two names most of us probably thought we’d never hear in the vicinity of one another, but here we are…

On Thursdays, Chris Brown celebrated International Women’s Day by posting up some music on his Instagram by different dope females. Brown went to the social media platform to share a clip of Carlton’s 2001 video for her super popular song, “A Thousand Miles.” He captioned the post, “MOOD. THIS SONG LIT FOREVER.” He’s not wrong, but it looks like Cartlon really didn’t appreciate the shoutout, and she responded to the post with the following statement:

“Today Chris Brown posted my video. I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account. Being that today is International Women’s Day I feel compelled to draw a line,” she wrote in a now-deleted post. “I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today. Thank you. #internationalwomensday.”

Her response was clearly referencing Chris’ 2009 domestic abuse incident with Rihanna. Brown eventually took the clip off his page and responded to Carlton’s message on his own account.
