‘Stranger Things’ Fan Favorite Upped to Series Regular for Season 4

Lucas’ younger sister will be spending a lot more time in Hawkins, Indiana.

“Stranger Things” has promoted actress Priah Ferguson, who plays sassy Erica Sinclair, to a series regular for the show’s upcoming fourth season, reported Variety.

After debuting during the Netflix series’ second season, Erica made quite the impression by delivering sassy one-liners aimed at her brother Lucas (Caleb McMcLaughlin) across four episodes as a guest star.

Promoted to a recurring character in season three, she got more screen time and dropped an endless amount of savage truths all while helping Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Steve (Joe Keery), and Robin (Maya Hawk) locate the secret Russian base underneath the Starcourt Mall.

Her performance quickly got much praise from fans and critics, as Entertainment Weekly even named her “the MVP of season 3.” Apologies to Eleven!

While it’s unclear what her character will be up to next, fans did get a glimpse of another major storyline after Netflix released a season four teaser trailer last week.

The mystery surrounding the fate of Officer Hopper (David Harbour), following the events at the end of season 3, was revealed as he was seen being held captive in a Russian prison.

“Although it's not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and other,” show creators the Duffer Brothers said in a statement.

“Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything."

And if anyone was concerned the hit show was losing its edge, they assured fans the ‘80s sci-fi series was upgrading the thrills.

The Duffers continued: "Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American.”

Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for "Stranger Things 4."
